Aero + : An Aero Visual Style with a touch of Windows 8 Visual Style for Windows 7
Hi! Thanks for viewing my first 'complete' visual style. This is a visual style wherein 72% of it is Aero and the 28% of it is Metro (this is my concept: aero outside, metro inside), and that may answer your question why is the scrollbar grey. I have nothing more to say, but i hope that you'll either like or love it!
Information + Features:
Wallpaper and Exploreframes, .dll for x86 and x64 and .bmp, included
Tested working on Windows 7 x32 (32-bit) and x64 (64-bit), both non-SP1 and SP1
Both time and date will be shown on small taskbars
Last time I tried to replace ExplorerFrame.dll, I broke stuff. I got to the logon screen and it would say "ERROR: the aplication failed to start because the following file is missing or corrupted: ExplorerFrame.dll" and then it would Re-start and say the same thing. ended up doing a Re-install of windows 7. :/
I'm loving the style so far. The simplistic design and square corners give it nice fresh and 'zippy' feel.
There are just some points I hope you could look at. Firstly I notice the corners of windows have three pixels at the very corner that are completely transparent instead of the same aero fill as the rest of the window. When I use a lower dpi setting the theme reverts to the default appearance, possibly because the images for lower dpi settings have not been changed. Thirdly I see the paddles on things like the volume scroller are gray. It's probably intentional but it just seems a bit out of place. Windows 7 and Windows 8 both have them white. I just think it would have been better to just use the same ones as for Windows 8.
I tried it out. It's really good as a design for the next Windows, but I suggest that you enlarge the date and time text on the taskbar, and to restore the user photo on the Start menu. There was also a problem replacing the explorerframe.dll file on SysWOW64, as I couldn't change permissions on that file (System32 worked, though.)
