Aero + : An Aero Visual Style with a touch of Windows 8 Visual Style for Windows 7

Hi! Thanks for viewing my first 'complete' visual style. This is a visual style wherein 72% of it is Aero and the 28% of it is Metro (this is my concept: aero outside, metro inside), and that may answer your question why is the scrollbar grey. I have nothing more to say, but i hope that you'll either like or love it!

Information + Features:
  • Wallpaper and Exploreframes, .dll for x86 and x64 and .bmp, included

  • Tested working on Windows 7 x32 (32-bit) and x64 (64-bit), both non-SP1 and SP1

  • Both time and date will be shown on small taskbars

To apply this visual style, read this tutorial.
To replace the ExplorerFrame.dll, read this tutorial

5/29/12 :
  • Reduced the size of the normal taskbar
  • Confirmed that it works on x64 (64-bit), confirmed by ~syrink

5/30/12 :
  • Fixed the tabs on Firefox>Options>Advanced (you may find it incomplete but thats normal), reported by ~DudE777

  • Made the windows more distinct than before, meaning you can slightly notice which window is active and inactive, reported by ~CY1221

  • Fixed the uTorrent toolbar, reported by ~Radanius

5/31/12 :
  • Added a 2 themes, one for bottom and left taskbar and one for top and right taskbar (this was added to remove the white line on the taskbars), requested by many users

6/3/12 :
  • Reduced the size of the vertical taskbars, reported by ~colagen
  • Renewed the ExplorerFrame.dll for x64

7/20/12 :
  • Replaced the Show desktop button
  • More opaque glow on title bars on the windows
  • Updated the Explorerframe.dll s, thanks to ~nahrizulashraf
  • .bmp s available for Explorerframe

7/20/12 :
  • Updated x64 Explorerframe.dll, thanks to ~elharty

The theme works great and looks good, but the explorerframe.dll files destroyed my computer. Could't access any of my users at all.
Took my over 3 hours to fix it. What does they do anyway? :)

Besides that I love the theme.

The perfect mix between Windows 7 & 8. The natural evolution of Windows 7. Windows 8/10 should look like THIS !

One of the best themes I've used, great job on it.

I'm loving the style so far. The simplistic design and square corners give it nice fresh and 'zippy' feel.

There are just some points I hope you could look at. Firstly I notice the corners of windows have three pixels at the very corner that are completely transparent instead of the same aero fill as the rest of the window. When I use a lower dpi setting the theme reverts to the default appearance, possibly because the images for lower dpi settings have not been changed. Thirdly I see the paddles on things like the volume scroller are gray. It's probably intentional but it just seems a bit out of place. Windows 7 and Windows 8 both have them white. I just think it would have been better to just use the same ones as for Windows 8.

I tried it out. It's really good as a design for the next Windows, but I suggest that you enlarge the date and time text on the taskbar, and to restore the user photo on the Start menu. There was also a problem replacing the explorerframe.dll file on SysWOW64, as I couldn't change permissions on that file (System32 worked, though.)

My windows are a bit rounded (see screenshot). How can I make them straight like in your screenshots?

Which resource file is for the menu bar? I think it doesn't fit in nicely with the blue tint and I'd like to make it grayscale.…

My desktop looks great!
I have always liked the Simplistic windows 8 but it wasn't Aero, and I also loved the Aero of Windows 7 but I didn't like how glossy it was.

I also never liked that in Windows the Close, Minimize, and Maximize buttons were always colored unless clicked away. With this theme its always clear unless hovered over which Which I think looks much cleaner w00t!

This is Exactly what I wanted the entire time. Simple, clear, yet beutiful. :D (Big Grin)
